Jersey share schemes and trustees – September 25 2020 – Postponed
This year’s Jersey share schemes and trustees seminar, held in partnership with the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP-Jersey branch), has been postponed till 2021. Unfortunately it was not practicable to go ahead on the planned date of September 25 while keeping within the updated government guidelines on events and gatherings in Jersey.
The re-scheduled event will be at the Pomme d’Or hotel St Helier in 2021 (date to be confirmed).
Given the impact of the pandemic, hiatus in post Brexit negotiations, corporate governance moves, the international reach of trustees and the growth in employee ownership trusts, it has never been more important for those interested in Eso schemes and trusteeship to attend this annual seminar.
We shall present an updated programme which will include sessions on the Eso response to Covid; Recent decisions of the courts, and issues arising with EOTs; “A day in the life of a tax inspector” – looking at the knock-on effect of the pandemic for those working at HMRC; plus updates on the loan charge, and Esops.
Rt Hon. Mark Field, who was a strong supporter of the Crown Dependencies when a Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, will be guest of honour.
Experts include: Katherine Neal, Ogier; Graham Muir, CMS; David Pett, Temple Tax Chambers; David Craddock, David Craddock Consultancy Services and Paul Malin, Haines Watts. The seminar will be chaired by Malcolm Hurlston CBE, who first visited the Pomme d’Or during his national service in 1957. “Those were uncertain times and I wondered whether I would be able to travel so far again” he reveals. “Not unlike now”.
Don’t miss this great opportunity to update your knowledge.
The presentations will run from 9:00am to 1:00pm (approx.) followed by a lunch for delegates and speakers.
